Easley, Governor William G. Ross, Jr., Secretary North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Coleen H. Sullins, Director Division of Water Quality On August 23, 2007, I received your response to the letter I sent you on July 23, 2007. The initial reason for this was to determine whether the facility needs a stormwater permit. After reviewing the detailed description of the process and final product I spoke with the Division's stormwater permitting section and also looked up the SIC code on OSHA's website (http://www.osha.gov/pls/imis/sicsearch.html). Based on the activities described I think the SIC code was assigned incorrectly. Because you store product and raw materials outside this will require a general stormwater permit (NCG210000). I have attached a copy of the application and technical bulletin for your review. You may also find additional information on our website (htti)://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/Stormwater.html).
