8. PROJECT SUMMARY: The applicant proposes to add a floating dock in order to provide for two
slips.

9. NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION: The project site consists of an existing pier reaching out into Banks
Channel from the applicant's property. There is an existing residence located on the property. The
pier is approximately 127' long including an 8' x 15' "T" head. There is an existing dock connected to
this "T" head by means of a ramp. The dock is oriented toward the landward side of the "T". An 8'x
12' gazebo is located on the south side of the existing pier approximately one half the distance to the
waterward end. The water depths in this area are approximately -8' at low water. Banks Channel is in
excess of 800' wide in the project area. Wrightsville Beach has an established pier head line and it is
located 160' waterward of the west curb face of Waynick Blvd. The waters are classified as SA by the
DWQ and are closed to the taking of shellfish. This is not a designated primary nursery Area by
DMF. The floating dock proposed by the applicant will be approximately 24' x 6'. It will provide
two additional slips. The existing structure will be approximately 5' short of the WB pier head line.
10. ANTICIPATED IMPACTS:
The project will not have a significant adverse impact on coastal resources if constructed as
proposed.

other instrument under which the applicant claims title
to the affected properties. If the applicant is not
claiming to be the owner of said property, then
forward a copy of the deed or other instrument under
which the owner claims title, plus written permission
from the owner to carry out the project.
• An accurate, dated work plat ('including plan view
and cross-sectional drawings) drawn to scale in black
ink on an 8 1/2' by I 1 " white paper. (Refer to
Coastal Resources Commission Rule 7J.0203 for a
detailed description.)
Please note that original drawings are preferred and
only high quality copies will be accepted. -Blue-line
prints or other larger plats are acceptable only if an
adequate number of quality copies are provided by
applicant. (Contact the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers regarding that agency's use of larger
drawings.) A site or location map is a part of plat
requirements and it must be sufficiently detailed to
guide agency personnel unfamiliar with the area to the
