The force main was air locking, turning septic, due to the lift station's variable frequency drives. The Town responded immediately by installing four additional air release valves at high spots along the force main, and eliminating the variable frequency drives. The lift station run times improved right away, correcting the issue. No problems with the lift station have occurred since the corrections were made.
