Most of the sewer lines will be constructed in previously disturbed land adjacent and within the NCDOT right-of-way. Impacts will be minimized by using proper sedimentation and erosion control measures and by limiting the amount of disturbed area to what is shown on the plans. Trench boxes are also anticipated to reduce disturbed area. 1 b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques. Cumulative Impacts (DWQ Requirement) 3a. Will this project (based on past and reasonably anticipated future impacts) result in ❑ Yes ® No additional development, which could impact nearby downstream water quality? 3b. If you answered "yes" to the above, submit a qualitative or quantitative cumulative impact analysis in accordance with the most recent DWQ policy. If you answered "no," provide a short narrative description. The project will not create any major negative secondary or cumulative impacts to the soils in the project area. The proposed pump station will include the construction of a new sewer main in soil that has not previously been disturbed at the anticipated depths. Sod boring will be performed prior to the project to allow the Town and contractor to strategize methods to reduce any potential impacts. The southeastern portion of Winterville is a reasonable location for the natural growth being expected by the Town and general region of Pitt County. The anticipated growth is to be residential and small commercial in nature. These activities generally utilize native soils. The County and Town ordinances will provide general guidelines and limitations on the type and degree of impact that will occur from any future development that will contribute wastewater flow to this proposed station. The collection line replacement portion of the project will not disturb any undisturbed soil as all replacement/extension and improvements activities will take place inside existing easements and rights-of-way. No soils are anticipated to be contaminated during or after the project's completion. 4. Sewage Disposal (DWQ Requirement) 4a. Clearly detail the ultimate treatment methods and disposition (non-discharge or discharge) of wastewater generated from the proposed project, or available capacity of the subject facility. The Town of Wintervdle owns, operates, and maintains its wastewater collection and pumping systems. The Town's wastewater is conveyed to the Contentnea Metropolitan Sewerage District (CMSD) for treatment. Winterville's wastewater collection system consists of approximately 242,000 linear feet of gravity sewer line; 1,030 manholes; 30 pump stations; and, 7,300 LF of force main. By default, records are summarized by county, but you also have the option to summarize the records by USGS topographic maps or simple statewide summaries, For more information or for an explanation of the results of the search, see the "Help" and "Definitions" links above. • Partial search terms are acceptable. If you are unsure of the correct spelling, you could enter the beginning letters of either the genus or species in the Scientific Name field. • To see distribution maps, click on the scientific or common name of an element in the table of results from a county or topo database search Note that there are no maps for the statewide summary http./Mfww.ncnhp.oreyweb/nhpfdatabase-search 1/2 -- "U =-- - - - — . . 4/6/2016 NCDEQ - Species/Community Search The results can be further refined by entering a text string in the "Filter search results" field. . If you have any questions or technical issues, contact the Conservation Information Manager Use of North Carolina Natural Heritage Program data should not be substituted for actual field surveys, particularly if the project area contains suitable habitat for rare species. If a database search lists no records for a project area, it does not necessarily mean that they are not present. The area may not have been surveyed by biologists, or the data may not have been reported to the Natural Heritage Program.
