Water Resources NPDES Compliance/ Permitting Unit 1617 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699 Subject: Permit Renewal Request NPDES NC0024279 Dear Emily: To begin, I would like to apologize for failing to renew the permit within the required time allowed. We had our primary ORC—Wastewater Supervisor retire that had taken care of this over the years and inadvertently missed this renewal requirement. However, the City does respectfully request renewal of the permit for the City of Conover Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant permit# NC0024279. While the Facility has been closed since 2004, we are currently experiencing growth that could potentially create the need to obtain approvals for plant renovation and place the Facility back in service to meet the needs in Conover's Southeast basin/area.We are currently evaluating that potential since existing wastewater treatment capacities (partnership with the City of Newton) are being utilized by the growth in the Commercial/ Industrial zoned areas. Renewal of the permit would give us the time needed to properly evaluate the need for the allocated wastewater discharge capacity. We appreciate your consideration and would be glad to provide any information needed to consider our request. Please feel free to contact me at 828-464-4808 or brian.bradshaw@conovernc.gov should you have any questions. Thank You for your assistance. Sincerely, 6(4-e. 61 Brian Bradshaw City of Conover Public Utilities Director [Post Office Box 549 1 Conover, North Carolina l 28613 1 voice/tdd (828) 464-4808 1 fax (828) 464-52991 FACILITY NAME AND PERMIT NUMBER: City of Conover Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant PERMIT ACTION REQUESTED: RIVER BASIN: Renewal Catawba NC0024279 FORM Mir 1111111111111,7 — -- ------ ----- 2A NPDES FORM 2A APPLICATION OVERVIEW NPDES APPLICATION OVERVIEW Form 2A has been developed in a modular format and consists of a "Basic Application Information" packet and a "Supplemental Application Information" packet.
