Subject; Courtesy notification for the use of a NW 3 permit for a culvert replacement on SR 1302,
Janiero Road in Pamlico Cowrty.
The NCDOT is sending a courtesy notification for the use of a NW 3 perniit for a culvert
replacement on SR 1302, Janeiro Road, Pamlico County. This culvert is located in an un-named tributary of
Dawson Creek approximately 2,460 ft. downstream to the confluence of Dawson Creek. The tributary is a
Blue Line Stream as shown on the Cheery Point USGS Quad Map and Sheet Number 9 of the Soils Survey
of Pamlico County. Dawson Creek is within the Neuse drainage basin and classified as SA;HQW;NSW
by the DWQ. The existing pipe is 36'x 30" RCP and the proposed replacement is 40'x 36" CMP. The site
is shown onIncluded with this request is a location map and permit drawings depicting the proposed work,

Pipe Replacement on SR 1302, Janiero Road
Pamlico County
Pipe Installation Schedule
• Install erosion/sediment control devices per plans.
• Remove material while limiting, as much as possible, material and sediment
from entering the stream and/or escaping from the project.
• Prepare pipe foundation while taking care to limit material and sediment from
entering the stream and/or escaping from the project. Where possible new
grade should be below the existing streambed. Bedding material will be washed
stone.
• Place new pipe and compact fill.
• Install slope protection on outlet and inlet ends of pipe (Class B Granite riprap)
• Establish permanent vegetation as soon as possible
• Remove sediment control devices after project has stabilized and permanent
vegetative cover is established.
