The town has organized and hosted a variety of stormwater themed events for the community,
and will continue to do so. The town typically hires RiverLink based in Asheville to conduct
these activities.
The greenway commission has held clean up and litter removal events along Flat Creek.
The town promotes and encourages participation local Adopt -a -Stream programs and also
promotes other stormwater related volunteering activities in the region.
