Define goals and objectives of the local public education and outreach program based on
community wide issues.
The objective of the public education and outreach program is to increase the public's
understanding of stormwater issues in Black Mountain and encourage citizens to follow all
applicable laws related to protecting water resources.
The goals for the public education and outreach program are:
• Create an informational website about stormwater for the community.
Distribute information to the community as a whole and to specific groups with specific
needs through mailings, events, and typical interactions within planning and development
services department.
Create and maintain a dedicated stormwater contact number for purposes of reporting and
requesting help.
