Dear Mr. Kinslow:
On January 30, 2020, Gary Hudson of this office performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection on the
wastewater treatment system at 2765 Hope Church Road in Winston-Salem, NC. Observations indicated that
the subsurface sandfilter was operating properly. Although the discharge pipe was unable to be located,
there were no negative impacts to surface waters observed during the inspection. Please note some of the
activities that must be conducted and documented, in addition to the laboratory analyses required if the
system discharges:
• Septic tanks shall be inspected at least yearly to determine if solids must be removed, and pumped out
every five years or when the solids level is found to be more than 1/3 of the liquid depth in in any
compartment.
• The tablet chlorinator shall be inspected weekly to ensure there is an adequate supply of tablets for
continuous and adequate operation.
