UNTREATED WASTEWATER
On January 24, 2020, City of Al-
bemarle experienced the following
sanitary sewer overflow at the fol-
lowing location due heavy rainfall
of 2" in a short period of time.
Overflow at 1313 N. 6th Street of
approximately 18,750 gallons into
Melchor Branch between 8:30pm
and 9:00am. City crews were able
to use equipment to evacuate
64,400 gallons to help eliminate
most of the manhole overflow. City
crews were able to wash, clean
and sanitize the parking lot area.
This notice is required by the
North Carolina General Statutes
