NOTICE OF DISCHARGE
OF UNTREATED WASTEWATER
On December 13, 2019, City of Albemarle experienced the following sanitary sewer
overflow at the following location due heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
Overflow at 31601 NC 740 Hwy of approximately 3600 gallons into Mountain Creek
between 7:00pm and 12:00am (12-13-19)
Overflow at 1313 N. 6t" Street of approximately 13,200 gallons into Melchor Branch
between 7:00pm (12/13/19) and 9:00am (12/14/19).City crews were able to use equipment to
evacuate 26,000 gallons to help eliminate most of the manhole overflow. City crews were able
to wash, clean and sanitize the parking lot area.
This notice is required by the North Carolina General Statutes Article 21 Chapter
