Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov Hi Ms. McCoy: I’m writing to follow-up on my December 4 letter requesting NC DEQ rescind no exposure coverage NCGNE0558 for Ingersoll Rand Company. 1 This no exposure certificate is for a warehouse that Ingersoll Rand previously operated at 9801 Twin Lakes Parkway, Charlotte. Ingersoll Rand had stored some materials outside which I understand was the basis that required a no exposure certification at this old location. Ingersoll Rand moved to an adjacent location (10000 Twin Lakes Parkway) and discontinued any exterior industrial activities. The coverage should have been discontinued at the time of the location switch. The SIC code for the business activities conducted by Ingersoll Rand at the 10000 Twin Lakes Parkway address is 4225 (General Warehousing and Storage). The new location is excluded from NC DEQ’s NPDES program and not required to have a no exposure certification based on the SIC code and lack of exterior industrial activities. The specific exclusion is under 40 CFR §122.26(b)(14)(viii) related to transportation facilities. I spoke today to Ms. Lily Kay in the NC DEQ Mooresville regional office regarding this matter. Ms. Kay has reviewed the 10000 Twin Lakes Parkway location and I believe agrees that there are no industrial activities conducted at the site that trigger the need for a no exposure certificate. Please advise if additional materials are needed to review this matter and rescind the NCGNE0558 certificate. Thanks.
