Install approx. 50'-60' retainig wall using a gabion basket system to reapair existing steam bank erosion next to a walking
path and apartment building. Restore aprox. 7'-8' of eroded bank to stabilize the stream bank and a existing walking
path. Installation of the gabion wall will be done using mostly hand tools, and a small 435 series BOBCAT mini exavator.
The baskets will be filled by hand and no equipment will be on the bank or in the stream at any time. A silt fence will be
installed as a barrier between he work area approx. 4' off the top of the bank and 4' down the bank to protect the stream
from any loose spoil entering the steam. The stone will be ferried using a small BOB Cat track loader to top top of the
bank and hand fed to the baskets. A layer ( approx. 10 stones)of class II rip rap will be installed at the base of the
existing 12" ADS drain to defuse any discharge water draining onto the steam bank. All exposed soil above the top of the
bank will seeded in tuff, or planted. The stream bank will be planted outside of the proposed area of disturbance to allow
for additional stabilization of the barren stream bank.
