On November 6, 2006, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received additional information to accompany your
October 24th PCN application to impact approximately 5291inear feet of streams and 0.143 acres of wetlands at
the above referenced site. This re-submittal did not include all of the information requested. Please provide the
following information so that we may continue to review your project and prevent denial of your application
as,required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506:
Stormwater Management Plan:
a) You have subdivided your project site into nine drainage areas. Three of these
areas meet the criteria for requiring engineered stormwater management-Basins
1, 3 and 4. You have not provided stormwater management for Basin No. 4.
This will be required.
b) Grassed swales provide only 35% TSS removal; you are required by the
conditions of the General Water Quality Certification to provide stormwater
BMPs that remove at least 85%TSS
[http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/ncwetlands/GC3402.pdf]. Please redesign the
stormwater management for Basin No. L
c) The forebay for Wet Detention Pond for Basin No. 3 is extremely oversized.
This does not provide additional water quality benefits. Please redesign your
pond.
d) Please provide a planting plan for the littoral shelves of the wet detention ponds.
Please refer to the NC DENR 1999 Stormwater Best Management Practices
Manual for design guidance
[http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/su/PDF_Files/SW Documents/BMP_Manual.PDF].
