Express Review Stormwater Permit Modification Submittal Package -

Dear Mr. Gyamfi:
We are in receipt of your comment letter relating to the above-referenced project, dated
10/28/09. In response to these comments, please find enclosed the following information:
• (1) original signed/sealed BMP Supplement Form for the Grassed Swale BMP, including
supporting design calculations, with one copy
• (2) sets of REVISED design plans for the Stormwater Permit Modification, signed/sealed
• (1) CD containing pdf copies of all submittal documentation and plans
Following are responses to each of the individual comments:
Planting Plan (Sheet 2):
a) A notation has been added to the Shelf Planting Diagram which shows the separation for
"shallow land" and "shallow water."
b) A notation has been added to the Emergent Plant List to show the separation between
plants designated for "shallow land" and "shallow water."
c) The Cross-Section of Perimeter Planting Shelf has been modified to show that no
excavation within the pond will take place, and that the 5-foot deep pool planting zone
will extend from the edge of the emergent planting shelf to meet existing grade.
d) General Note #6 has been modified to reflect that topsoil will be hauled-in for placement
on the perimeter planting shelf.
Grassed Swale BMP Supplement:
a) The design discharge on the BMP Supplement Form has been changed from 1.49 to 1.64
CFS. Additionally, a notation has been added to explain that 1.64 CFS represents the
maximum flow through the 8-inch dewatering pipe.

b) The selected grass type on the BMP Supplement Form has been changed to Tall Fescue,
to be consistent with the plans.
Additional modifications to the submittal documents include:
Plan View (Sheet 1)
a) The hatching for the excavated soils areas within the pond have been removed, and the
notes have been modified to reflect that topsoil will be imported to the pond to create the
new perimeter planting shelf.
Grassed Swale BMP Supplement:
a) The longitudinal slope of the grassed swale has been changed from 0.25% to 0.24%
slope, to match the design plans.
All plan revisions have been clouded as Revision #1.
