SUBJECT: Annual Compliance Inspection
Permit AWS410016
Dear Mr. Humble,
An annual Compliance Inspection of the subject permit was conducted on November 13, 2019. A copy of
the inspection report is included for your records and review. Please take note of the following comments
from the inspection and take action as needed:
1. A sludge survey will be required to be taken by the end of 2020. You plan to remove sludge
yourself in the coming months. Please contact Guilford County Soil and Water to assist you with
a sludge cleanout plan prior to removal of sludges in your treatment lagoons. Guilford County Soil
and Water may also be able to assist you with conducting the sludge survey by radar if requested.
2. Soils analysis will be due again in 2020.
3. While the dams were in good structural condition at the time of inspection, some small cedars on
the backside should be removed as soon as possible.
4. Reminder to include crop yields with waste application records.
5. A calibration of your waste application equipment is due by the end of the year or with the next
waste application event.
6. The pressure gauge on the irrigation gun needs to be replaced. The gauge at the reel still looked
to be in good condition.
Thank you for your time during the inspection. Please contact me at 336-776-9705 or
rebecca.chandler@ncdenr.gov if you have any questions regarding this inspection.
Sincerely,
DocuSigned by:

7. Cedars on backside of Lower lagoon should be taken care of before the get any bigger. Facility has allowed sheep grazing on
lagoons to keep vegetation maintained, did not look to be causing negative impacts to embankments.
9. Gauge on gun needs to be replaced. Gauge at reel still looks to be ok.
21. Reminder to record crop yields with waste application records.
21. Soils due next year (2020).
24. Calibration due by end of year or with next waste application.
25. Sludge survey to be completed in 2020. Facility plans to self-cleanout, need to obtain sludge removal plan from Soil and
Water. Suggest to have Soil and Water requested for assistance with sludge survey.
DWR to send weekly stocking form. Form already being used will be ok in future as long as numbers are weekly.
