Center Avenue Mooresville, NC 28115 Re: Tanfield Subdivision Extension To Whom It May Concern: RECEavFI')/r CDr--NR/DWF NOV 14 201.9 WQROS MOOR E'SVILLE RFG,IONAL OFFICE n!0 v , 2019 mo()R SVILLERF7OS UIONAL A request to modification of permit WQ0040834 has been proposed by Charlotte Water for the proposed 11 single family home extension off from Tanfield Drive. Previously the proposed project permitted 11 single family lots, each lot having its own 6" service lateral. Sewer flow was conveyed via two (2) 6" gravity pipe system to two (2) Eone Duplex Grinder Pumps. Each grinder pump was to pump into a common 1.5" PVC force main line which ran to a private sewer manhole and be discharged via gravity flow into the public Charlotte Water sewer manhole. Charlotte Water recently permitted a Sewer Trunk Main that will be located approximately 400ft north of our proposed site. Charlotte Water request that our project route a sewer main down the center of the Tanfield Drive extension in the public right of way so that once trunk line construction completes, we would be able to continue the gravity sewer main to the trunk line and tie into the public sewer. Due to timing of constructing the trunk line, the proposed sewer along Tanfield will be constructed before completion of the trunk line. We requested that the proposed sewer extension along Tanfield remain private, until sewer is tied into the trunk line. We have modified the permitted sewer to provide an 8" gravity sewer line down the center of Tanfield Drive and tying into one Eone Quadplex Grinder Pump. The grinder pump will pump into a common 2" PVC force main that will run to a private sewer manhole and discharge via gravity flow into the public Charlotte Water Sewer Manhole located to the south of the project site. This modification will eliminate the need of two gravity pipe systems and two grinder pump stations. 8712 Lindholm Drive Suite 202A - Huntersville, NC 28078 - 704.875.1615 ph - 704.875.0959 fax vwrw.herisonfoley.com The enclosed application package is provided as required to gain permits to construct the private sewer. GPD values impact retention times only, not line sizing or hydraulics. General recommendations for valve placement are: clean out valves at intervals of approximately 1,000 ft and at branch ends and junctions; isolation valves at branch junctions; and air release valves at peaks of 25 ft or more and/or at intervals of 2,000 to 2,500 ft. Lateral kits comprised of a ball and check valve are required to be installed between the pump discharge and street main on all installations. Laterals should be located as close to the public right of way as possible. ««< END OF NOTES »»> \\eoneis5\ssb\SSB Engineering Data\AE Projects\Tanfield Dr, NC\Tanfield Dr, NC-revl.EOne August 20, 2019 Budgetary Low Pressure Sewer System Costs Tanfield Dr-revl Matthew, NC uanti Description Unit Cost Installation Sub Total Valves 1 Clean Out $0.00 0.00 $0.00 $0.00 Pumps 1 W-Series Quadplex $0.00 0.00 $0.00 1 Lateral Kits (Includes Ball\Check Valve Assembly) $0.00 0.00 $0.00 1 Lateral (Boundary) Installation $0.00 0.00 $0.00 1 Pump/PanelInstallation $0.00 0.00 $0.00 $0.00 Piping 424 2.00" Pipe $0.00 0.00 $0.00 $0.00 Number of Connections 2_ Total Per Connection $0.00 Total (w/o other) »»»»»» $0.00 Grand Total Per Connection $0.00 Grand Total (including other) »»»»»» $0.00 Note: The System Costs above are based on piping sized for, and Grinder Pumps manufactured by Environment One Corporation. NA0215P01 Rev A Quadplex Grinder Pump Station Features The WH484 or WR484 is a complete unit that includes: four grinder pumps with check valves, polyethylene tank and controls. The WH484 is the "hardwired," or "wired," model where a cable connects the motor controls to the level controls through watertight penetrations. The WR484 is the "radio frequency identification" (RFID), or "wireless," model that uses wireless technology to communicate between the level controls and the motor controls. All solids are ground into fine particles, allowing them to pass easily through the pumps, check valves, and small diameter pipe lines. Even objects that are not normally found in sewage, such as plastic, rubber, fiber, wood, etc. are ground into fine particles. The 1-1/4" inch discharge connections are adaptable to any piping materials, thereby allowing us to meet your local code requirements. The tank is made of tough corrosion -resistant polyethylene. Designed specifically for higher -flow applications where local codes dictate higher storage requirements, the WH484MR484 has a tank capacity of 486 gallons (1802 liters), providing ample user storage. The lower portion of the tank has a smaller diameter tapered down to a dish shaped bottom. The large tank access opening easily accommodates installation of the grinder pumps and equipment. This model can handle flows of 7000 GPD (26,498 LPD). The internal check valve assemblies, located in the grinder pumps, are custom designed for non -clog, trouble - free operation. The grinder pumps are automatically activated and run infrequently for very short periods. Operational Information Motors 1 HP, 1,725 RPM, high torque, capacitor start, thermally protected, 120 or 240 V / 60 Hz, one phase Inlet Connections 4-inch inlet grommet standard for DWV pipe. Other inlet configurations available from the factory. Discharge Connections Pump discharge terminates in two, 1-1/4" female NPT connections. Can easily be adapted to 42 mm PVC pipe or any other material required by local codes. Discharge (per pump)* 15 gpm at 0 psig (.75 Ips at 0 m TDH) 11 gpm at 40 psig (.63 Ips at 20 m TDH) 7.8 gpm at 80 psig (47 Ips at 42 m TDH) Overload Capacity The maximum pressure that the pump can generate is limited by the motor characteristics. The motor generates a pressure well below the rating of the piping and appurtenances. The automatic reset feature does not require manual operation following overload.
