Inspection Summary
On June 5 2018 this facility was inspected for compliance I met with Rick Waite and Doug Willis on site During the
inspection the following was noted
1) Discoloration was noted at and around the yard inlet on the west side of the site The source of discoloration should be
identified and evaluated for pollutants
2) An illicit discharge was observed coming out of the pipe near the southeast corner of the site At the time of the
inspection there should not have been any discernable discharge After further investigation it was noted that the kiln was
the likely source of the discharge This co mingling of Stormwater and process water should be evaluated and addressed
Also the potential for the need of a wastewater permit should be considered
Also discussed on site was the potential of eliminating 1 sampling point by sampling the drainage channel at the Southeast
corner of the site

NPDES general permit This permit is issued pursuant to the requirements of North Carolina General
Statute 143-215 1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the US
Environmental Protection Agency dated October 15, 2007 (or as subsequently amended)
Please note that the NCG210000 General Permit will expire on July 31, 2018 Typically all permit
COCs are renewed automatically once the General Permit itself is finalized, unless there are
outstanding annual fees There is no need to reapply for a renewal unless the Division directs you

Thanks Bethany This Oak Valley site should probably list Little Silver Crk at their receiving stream See the attached You
will note this is a busy area for permitted facilities So there is a lot going on in this map, it is one of my working maps
One of Oak Valleys SDOs does go into a storm dram system then a short distance into a LIT to Little Silver, hence why I
would put Little Silver as the receiving stream The other two go to a roadside ditch then a short distance into a linear
wetland feature which ultimately drains to Silver Creek
I already got the permit number for this facility and have entered my inspection into BIM if you want to look at it when
you pick up the permit
