Mike Thomas of the Winston-Salem Regional Office of the NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted a compliance evaluation inspection (CEI) at the subject facility on 8 February 2011. The assistance and cooperation of Mr. Pete Hill during the inspection was greatly appreciated. An inspection checklist is attached for your records and the inspection findings are summarized below. The facility is located at 1660 US HWY 311 North, in Walnut Cove, Stokes County, North Carolina. Stormwater related to industrial activity is discharged to an unnamed tributary to the Dan River, which is currently classified as class WS-V waters in the Roanoke River Basin. Documentation and Monitoring Review The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SP3) is complete and well implemented. Training sessions are conducted annually to keep staff informed and up to date. Records for Qualitative Analysis were available and appeared to be complete. Routine maintenance and daily site inspections were also recorded .and made available for inspection. Analytical Monitoring is not required under NCG170000. Site Review The facility was clean and well maintained at the time of inspection. Outfalls were easily accessible and well maintained. A layer of sediment was present in the discharge pipe at the time of inspection. The sediment appeared to be coming from the drop inlet located near the North Carolina Division of water Quality, Winston-Salem Regional Office Location: 585 Waughtown St. Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27107 1One Phone: 336-771.50001 FAX 336-77146301 Customer Service: 1-877-623-6748 1 v O hCarolina Internet: www.ncwaterquality.org Naturally An Equal opportunity 1 Affirmative Action Employer Mr. BB McGuire Parkdaie America Plant 26 Compliance Evaluation Inspection, NCG1704093 2/10/2011 Page 2 of 2 truck unloading area.
