Your assistance and cooperation during the inspection was greatly appreciated. An inspection checklist is attached for your records and the inspection findings are summarized below. The facility is located at 215 Drummond Street, in Kernersville, Forsyth County, North Carolina, at approximate coordinates 36.120163 ON,—80.0703340W. According to the current Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SP3), stormwater related to industrial activity is discharged from stormwater discharge outfalls (SDO) 001 and 002, through Kernersville's storm sewer system, and into Abbott's Creek, which is currently classified as a Class WS-III (water supply) water located in the Yadkin Pee -Dee River Basin. Documentation & Monitoring Review Highland's SP3, documentation, and monitoring activities were reviewed during the inspection. No deficiencies were noted. Site Review The site and SDOs were very clean and well maintained. No issues were noted. The Division greatly appreciates the time and effort that Highland has obviously invested in their stormwater management plan. Please continue to keep up the great work. Marc Stokes of Ellis office performed the aforementioned inspection. Permit Highland received a Certificate of Coverage (COC), NC:G 170046, under the NPDES General Permit NCG170000 in 1999, renewed in 2004 and 2009 and will expire in 2014. The permit is associated with Standard Industrial Classification SIC 22, Facility Highland is a manufacturer of air bags, rubber coating and lamination for life vests. The facility does weaving production, printing and finishing operations. The facility is approximately 3 acres in size of which approximately 2S is impervious surface. The plant consists of one major building .housing the production operations of 110000 sq. ft- All floor drains in the facility discharge to the on -site wastewater facility. No vehicular maintenance is performed on site. Chemicals used in production are contained within the facility except for 1 underground storage tank for toluene and 2 toluene reclaimed tanks. The facility has one compactor, wrhich is covered; and one open top dumpster, covered, for the plate and frame sludge disposal.
