process wastewater The site is divided into two separate drainage areas (as detailed in Figure 2) Drainage Area 1 consists of the process areas of the site and Drainage Area 2 consists of wooded land Stormwater runoff from the portions of the site on which industrial activities take place, as detailed in ['figure 2, discharges through a drainage swale into an on -site detention pond The detention pond discharges into an overflow pipe at Outfall 001 Outfall 001 is located at the point where the steel overflow pipe in the detention pond discharges into a rip -rap lined drainage ditch that flows away from the facility The rip -rap lined drainage ditch channels flow south then east approximately 300 yards where it discharges into an unnamed tributary to Fiddlers Creek Stormwater drainage in process water control system consists of the following • Curbed area for truck washdown/washout, • Four (4) in -ground concrete sumps, • Portable recycle pump, • Carbon dioxide distribution system, and, • Detention pond controlling site wide discharges Each component of the system and its function is described in the following sections 3 2 1 Curbed Area for Truck Washdown/Washout To ensure that process water is not discharged prior to entering the recycle/treatment system, a concrete curb is being added to surround the truck wash down area (See Figure 3) The truck wash -down area existing grading slopes to the first water collection sump The curbmg also functions to reduce the total drainage area feeding to the recycle/treatment system which reduces the likelihood of exceeding the system recycling capacity 3 2 2 Four (4) In -ground Concrete Sumps I he rinse water from the truck wash area is directed by the existing grade and the curbing described above into a succession of four in -ground concrete sumps The sumps collect the water and provide retention time such that settleable solids and suspended solids will settle out of the water Water fills each sump in succession and water in the final sump (or earlier sumps) is recycled to the batch process by a portable submersible pump Based on typical batch production rates it has been determined that the total water volume of last three (3) sumps can be utilized in the process withm one (1) or (2) business days 3 2 4 Carbon Dioxide Distribution System In the event that the system capacity is overwhelmed and complete recycle of the process water is not possible, the system will discharge water from the final sump Based on standard operating procedures this would require precipitation exceeding a 10-year design storm Prior to allowing this discharge the water is treated for settleable solids, suspended solids, and pH Prior to reaching the final sump the water has been treated for settleable solids and suspended solids via the sump and weir system Treatment for pH is provided by a carbon dioxide distribution system The carbon dioxide distribution system is a Model 5000S pH Control and Monitoring system produced by Fortrans The system has been specifically designed and tested for concrete batch plant applications System specifications as provided by the manufacturer are presented in the
