Dear NC Mining,
I realize that your group may be working to support Piedmont Lithium as they are pursuing approval
for the deep pit mine in Gaston County; however according to the criteria that you stated must be
considered, the criteria of the environment, most specifically water should stop any further
consideration. The fact that they are drilling below the water level in this highly populated area does
not protect us from their depletion and pollution of our water resources. Also, one major issue that
many of us will face when our water resources (wells) are depleted or polluted is that we will have to
pay for the legal fees to protect our rights and many of us will not have the financial resources to do
so.
Please do not approve Piedmont Lithium's permit for the deep pit mine. There are many other
reasons but the main and huge issue is what will happen to the water.
