Thank you for allowing me to speak on behalf of my property which is a small farm located on
Anthony Grove Rd. Your presence is appreciated, along with your education on mining 101.
My neighbors speaking before and after will bring you facts, figures and stories.
What I am asking is Are you confident that Piedmont Lithium is the company that can mine our
underground lithium with a truthful and honest business ethic. So far, they have been asking
for forgiveness before permission. They have done a lot of covert business practices in plain -
site. They have misled investors, county commissioners, and the citizens of North West, Gaston
County. Their balance sheets look's ok (sort of) until you realize that their project is 850 million -
they have 140 million in cash, with about the same amount of liabilities that are coming due in
2021 and 2022.
Why do I ask this question? About the confidence in Piedmont.
The DEQ mission statement is why.
Fundamental Philosophy:
DEQ Service Organization with regulations for Public assistance, rather than a bureaucratic
obstacle of resistance.
Fundamental Economics:
It all goes together- the environment and the economic cost/benefit is considered as a public
service endeavor.
Fundamental Science:
Decisions are made through science- It takes a lot of public programs — agency to decide the
outcome.
The Outcome:
Collaborative stewardship between citizens, government regulators, and business communities.
They want us to place confidence in what they say they are going to do in their mining
applications.
I don't think so. Piedmont has more negatives than positives. Beware- take your time in
granting permits.
