Dear Elected Officialls,
l aim widting to express my opposition to the quarry. l Illive llin Cary, NC, less
than 2 mHes from the existing quarry, and less than 2 miles from the
proposed quarry. Wake Stone Quarry Ihas Ibeen a Ipooir ineighbor creating
dust, i trucks, and miii Ibooms that disrupt an otherwise Ipeacefull
neighborhood. L.aind for a quarry cannot Ibe Ileased without IIrrevocaIble
daimage to the the Ilaind. A lease for quarry is as IlaughaIble and ainallogous
to leasing a tissue; liirnage it Iborirowed, used, and returned. We Ipuirchased
our Ihome 15 years ago Ipreciselly to Ibe closer to Uimstead State Park. We
enjoy the uinllinteirirupted gireeinway that connects us to t1his state treasure.
This quarry willll disrupt and destroy the inatuire that makes t1his area of NC
speciaL Ad6fioii RDU Airport Autlh<y was offered a fair deal to
conserve the Ipropeirty Iby the Conservation Fund and l aim requesting that
be reconsidered that offer, wNich fair exceeds the (profits from the quarry
over a 25 30 year (lease. l Iiirnploire you to Ilistein to the citizens w1ho (live llin
t1his Ibeautifull area w1ho despeiratelly do inot waint another quarry ii
