Subject: [External] Deny Mining Permit 92-10
My name is Patrick Trombetta, 729 Grace Hodge Drive, Caty, NC 27519. I'm calling for DEQ to deny mining
permit 92-10 under subsection 74-51 d subsection Subsection 5: That the operation will have a significantly
adverse effect on the purposes of a publicly owned park, forest or recreation area.
Contiguous natural areas that support wildlife are an incredibly precious resource that can not be replenished,
once destroyed. The value to the citizenry of this area, and of the state of North Carolina, of Umstead Park is
incalculable. The destruction of this habitat is an irreversible act that harms present and future generations of the
citizenry of our state, and benefits a small group of citizens.
I request that the permit be denied because of the damage to Umstead Park and the animal habitats of
endangered species such as bald eagles.
