Raleigh NC 28696. I'm calling for DEQto deny mining permit 92-10 under subsection 74-51d subsection Let speak from the heart of myself and many that have spoken to deny this tragic idea. I'm an avid outdoor gal that enjoys riding my Mtb, horseback riding, bikes and runs in our sacred Greenspace. I'd like for you to reflect back when our Country was on lockdown and specifically Wake County and honestly most of the country we had to close Our public parks because people were Flocking to them to enjoy beauty out earth 0 has provided. If this doesn't say WE NEED MORE GREEN SPACE I'm not sure what else you need for proof. I'm also confident that having More Greenspace in Wake County is Incentive for those looking to move here because we offer a diversity of jobs and currently have some green space left, but we need more. I'm sure very few people would be inspired to move to Wake County for a Quarry that was stolen from its citizens for a private company to reap the rewards from its citizens public lands . But they'll move here And Stay here for the valuable Greenspace this amazing tract of land offers. Please listen to the citizens not a selfish private company!! Now the reasons Why you Should Deny this disaster! Subsection 5:That the operation will have a significantly adverse effect on the purposes of a publicly owned park, forest or recreation area; o There are potential undiscovered prehistoric Native American resources • The Sunset Clause: o The DEQ had denied the quarry initially in 1980, and only relented to give the land next to Harrison Ave entrance provided Wake Stone ends operation in 50 years. However, Wake Stone changed the wording on the Sunset Clause to allow for indefinite mining in 2018, after multiple reviews over 30 years with no objections. https://umsteadcoal ition.org/resources/Documents/Wake/ 20Stone/24-August% 2 022%201980,%20Denial%20of%20Wake%20Stone%20Corporatio n%20Permit% 20Application.PDF 0 o https://umsteadcoalition.org/Mining-Permit#:—:text=Reinstating%20the%2050-Ye ar%20Sunset,all%20mining%20operatio ns%20wouId%20cease. I look forward to your denial of this craziness!! Sincerely Camye Womble
