The Oddf6lHows Tract adjoi6ling Umstead is an Iirirepllacalble Ihalbitat that
likely serves as a home for inuimeirous rare a6lmall and Ipllaint species and is
also the o6ly Iknown Illiinik to a imajoir wHdlIlIfe corridor stretcNing from Florida
to Canada. The fact that this area Ibelling gireeinllighted for destruction,
sometINIng that sounds more at home lin the early mid 20t1h century, is
actuaHy Ihalppeinliing lin 2020, a time whein the devastating impacts of
humans on the environment are actuaHy welH known, is astouin6ing. Even
aside from the area(belling destroyed (wNlch has inuimeirous taH trees and
large iroclk formations overlooking Crabtree Greek), there is also the risk of
outlylling areas also(belling affected. Wake Stone must inot receive a Ipeirmit
to mine lin this area. l ask that you restore the Sunset Clause to the current
Wake Stone quarry operations that were (promised to end lin 2031. To the
elected officialls, IpNease see my message to the DEC. as an lin6cation of
my opposition agallinst the quarry, and IpNease send a message to the DEC.
making your opposition agallinst the quarry known, as welH.
