RE: Enka Quarry
Mining Permit No. 35-04
Permit Modification Concrete Recycling
Dear Mr. Parr:
Vulcan Materials Company (VMC) requests permission to accept clean concrete to be recycled
and processed on site. VMC intends to stockpile the recycled product in the sales yard as one of
the aggregate products to be sold to contractors.
The imported concrete will be stored in our current working pit for processing. The recycling of
the concrete will be handled in a manner that is in compliance with our air and water quality
permits for the site. Any concrete brought on site will not be buried on site. Please see attached
drawing for staging location. Please note that any runoff from the area will flow to the pit.
Please feel free to contact me at (704) 547-7076 should you have any questions or comments.
Sincerely,
Tony Johnson
Environmental Engineer
