Department of Environmental Quality Division of Land Resources Land Quality Section 1612 Mail Service Center Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-1612 RE: Enka Quarry Mining Permit No. 35-04 Permit Modification Concrete Recycling Dear Mr. Parr: Vulcan Materials Company (VMC) requests permission to accept clean concrete to be recycled and processed on site. VMC intends to stockpile the recycled product in the sales yard as one of the aggregate products to be sold to contractors. The imported concrete will be stored in our current working pit for processing. The recycling of the concrete will be handled in a manner that is in compliance with our air and water quality permits for the site. Any concrete brought on site will not be buried on site. Please see attached drawing for staging location. Please note that any runoff from the area will flow to the pit.
