The mine site was operating at the time of the site visit. I do feel that while they do add flocculants to their treatment, the ponds could be better. They may need to evaluate if more flocculant is needed. Maintenance was needed at the skimmers at the time of the site visit. Lauren Garcia walked the site with Warren Paschal and myself. Additional measures may be needed at/along discharge locations of newly proposed basins (ie-silt fence outlets), located on the eastern side of the mine to prevent clay suspended material from topping silt fence or undermining silt fence and entering wetlands. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. Sincerely Diane Adams C.
