This minor modification simply changes 3.6 acres from "wetland" and "buffet" to "Mining Area".
The drainage ditch that once separated the two open fields was classified as a wetland many
years ago. A recent evaluation by the US Ann y Corps of Engineers determined that the area
does not meet the requirements for Jurisdictional Wetlands, and therefore has certified that it is
not a wetland. Therefore, the area once classified as "wetland", and the associated buffers, will
now be mined in accordance with the existing permit requirements.
