Subject: [External] [Mining Permit 92-10] Keep the Old Reedy Creek Road Corridor for
recreation - not a new rock quarry
Michaell Regain, Secretary DEQ,
My inaime is IKatie Geimbeirfing and I'm asking NCIDEQ to deiny Miinlling Permit 92 10 as it
irellates to oing6ling iroolk it iinlling inear Umstead State Park. The it iinlling is loud, and it Ipollllutes
the air making exercise more dfficuft. Another quarry would make inolise and air Ipolllution
worse; ad6fioinalHy, the debris and iruinoff from iroolk blasting would add more se61meint to the
lake and streams we pass Iby oin our iruins. There are sigins liin Umstead liindlioating that the
water is already Ipolllluted with IPC11:3s. So, I'm asking you inot to ireinew or extend the Ipeirmit for
continued imiinlling inext to Umstead State Park. Rlease doin't allow the air and water inear our
school to Ibe thireateined Iby Nasting and imiinlling. Rlease protect it for users of Umstead and
also for users of the 1:11ac1k Greek & East Coast gireeinways. Thaink you for your time liin reading
this Iletteir.
