There is some initial concern about the close proximity of the project to Red Cockaded Woodpecker (RCW) nesting trees. It's possible that timing restrictions may be needed on equipment operation during the breeding months (April - July) or the buffer on the property line be increased from 50 ft to 150 ft. I would also like my hydrologist to study the impact of dewatering operations on nearby lime sinks which is critical habitat for several sensitive species. My hydrologist is currently fighting fire out west and won't return until August 5. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. In the future, please reach out to me directly instead of through our general inbox.
