Thanks for sharing. We have, in my short time, not initiated the EJ review process with a new mining
permit. However, the only new project since I started has not actually submitted an application
(Piedmont Lithium).
For Renee's information: This requestor has been in touch with us with questions on the Hood Creek
Soils project, for which we are holding a hearing Thursday. We have been supplying her with records
related to the project concurrently.

What is the Secretary's Environmental Justice and Equity Advisory Board's position on granting a
new mining permit in a disenfranchised community that is already home to a 645acre landfill? I
thought that there was supposed to be some protection for these communities. What recourse
does the community have?
