operation for this inew proposed quarry willll Ihave a siginllficaintly adverse
effect on the Ipuirposes of a Ipubllicly owined Ipairk, forest, or recreation area.
Wake Stone clallims on their application that the quarry would Ihave 100
feet Ibuffeir from the Ipairk, but the llinforirnation is mislea61ng because Wake
Stone should Ibe measuiding the (buffer from the top of the Ibanik, inot the
center of the stream. In that sense, the Ibuffeir size is much sni than
they clallim. Furthermore, the stated Ibuffeir is still fflHed with iretalinling wall,
fence, on top of massive clear cutting, so llin that sense, this Ibuffeir is llin ino
way capable of protecting the Ipairk from the i and dust generated Iby
the quarry operation should it happen.
Wake Stone also proposed to Ibulilld a Ibrlidge over Crabtree Creek for their
operation. The Ibrlidge is 800 feet from the Uimstead boundary, but l do inot
bellieve that is fair enough to inot Ihave liirnpact, especially if theire is golfing to
be massive clear cutting. Also, llin the schematics submitted Iby Wake
Stone, the roads from th6lir proposed Ibrlidge seeims to Ibe located llinside
their proposed Ibuffeir. If that is llindeed the case, is theire any ireall protective
buffeir for the Ipairk at aIH?
