2) Wake Stone quarry oin Harrison Avenue liin Cary Ihas Ibeein a 1BAD
ineighbor for Umstead State Park due to the inoise, dust IpollllutGoin produced
�by tlhellr activities.
3) There is Ipein6ing Iiinvestigation oin the SUNSET OL.AUSE. Ain uinllawfW
c1hainge oin oine term Ihas Ibeein made and ineeds to Ibe resolved with the
respoinsible parties brought to justice. Given t1his, NO ACTIVITY Ipeirtaining
to issuainces of ad6fioinall Ipeirmits allowing another quarry liin the area
s1hoWd Ibe Ipuirsued uintfl there is clarity and resolution oin the matter.

4) The origllinall sunset cVa use states that Welke Stone quarry operations MH
end llin 2031, 50 years from 1981. It is irriglhtfUl that this cVa use shoUld Ibe
restored as a correction to the uinllawfUl revision on the agreement.
5) The Odd Fellklows Trace is identified as a "CrllficallII-and Acquisition
Tract" Iby NC State Parks for Urnstead State Park for water quallkty
protection and IpoteintGall forested Ibilke tral10s. The 1Boy Scouts have camped,
NlIked, and Ibilked on this Ipropeirty since 1958.
6) RDU Airport Authority was offered a fair Beall to conserve the Ipropeirty
�by the Conservation Fund and shoUld reconsider that offer llin Illight of the
�public of the Ipublic Ibeinefits it would Iprovlide.

We have had two hearings where residents and Iparlk users gave limportaint
data stating why the DEQ shoUld deny Welke Stone airiinlling Ipeirmit.
