This email is in reference to the proposed Wake Quarry adjacent to Umstead State Park. The proposed project would
have an adverse effect on a public recreation area and threaten a unique natural resource in The Triangle. Umstead
State Park contributes to the quality of life that brings so many to the Triangle. The tree canopy provides benefits to
water quality, air quality, and provides thermal regulation in the midst of an expanding Triangle region. I urge you NOT
to approve Wake Stone's request for a mining permit. Thank you for your consideration.
