Subject: [External] [Mining Permit 92-10] Keep the Old Reedy Creek Road Corridor for
recreation - not a new rock quarry
Michaell Regain, Secretary DEQ,
the Ipllainined quarry willll forever inegafiv6ly impact the Uimstead Park at Reedy Greek. Parks
and Ipubllic spaces are imoire llimpoirtaint to our health and well Ibeliing. We have einough
particulate imatteir liin the air we Ibreatlhe, and imore thain einough contaminated liin the waters
that flow through Crabtree Creek. Once it's goine it's forever goine. We've lost so much
already. Preserve this space that willll make the Iparlk imore accessible and a Ibeinefit to imore
citizens as wellll as wildlife. Wake County is fast hosing our trees and quality of life due to
Ilecoinornic" pressure and short sighted Ipllainnliing. There is ino Iloing term Ibeinefit to having
ainotheir pit to crush stone. The negative impacts willll Ibe forever. The airport should Ibetteir
imainage it's facilities and inot rely oin the repulsive and detrllrneintall sellll off. RIDU should
respect the citizens it also serves. No to the quarry, it's that simple. We ineed open space for
healthy people, inot airports.
