Adam,
I believe I have received all that I am going to receive regarding certified mail receipts from the mine
modification notification letters. For the adjacent property owned by the Town of Holly Springs, the
County tax records list the Town Attorney's Office as the owner. The Town Manager received his
notification and returned the green card receipt, but the Town Attorney did not. There are three (3)
letters returned and marked "return to sender", two of the residents did not have mail receptacles.
One recipient, Dale Judd, never responded, but his relatives from two (2) different residences
returned their green cards.
In summary, all of the adjacent property owners to the project area have received and
acknowledged receipt of the mine modification. There are a few property owners that are adjacent
to the existing mine permitted facility that have not acknowledged receipt of the mine modification
notification. A tracking sheet and copy of green card receipts and returned letters are attached. Let
me know if you have any questions.
The RRO conducted a mine inspection on July 28, 2021 at Holly Springs. The inspectors brought up a
few points that will require modifying the mine maps. Mainly, better access to the erosion and
sediment control systems needs to be included to ensure proper monitoring and maintaining the
structures and BMPs. We needed to divert our CAD energies toward another mine modification at
Princeton, but you should be receiving that packet tomorrow. We incorporated the those same RRO
concerns in our Princeton submittal, and will now get back to revising the Holly Springs mine maps.
