Subject: [External] [Mining Permit 92-10] Stop RDU Quarry
Michaell Regain, Secretary DEQ,
HeHo,
I've girowin up going to Uimstead Park, and it is oine of the few gireein areas that remains liin the
Town of Cary. l really doin't waint to see t1his Ipubllic Ilaind turned liinto a Iprlivate iroclk quarry.
On in lice days, the Ipairk is already crowded. Using some of the existing space for t1his quarry
willll oinlly imalke the tralOs more crowded. Also, the quarry would cut off ain ecologically
mportaint wildlife corridor that connects the trliainglle area of NC to the rest of the east coast.
https:Hwildlandsnetwork.org/wiIdways/eastern/
To the elected officials, Iplease see my message to the DEQ as ain liindlication of my opposition
against the quarry, and Iplease send a message to the DEQ malking your opposition against
the quarry Ikinowin, as well.
l urge you to consider to deiny Walke Stone Corp's appfication for a inew iroclk mine (Permit 92
10) due to the negative impacts oin Umstead State Park, Crabtree Cireelk, the East Coast
Gireeinway, and recreation liin the OM Reedy Cireelk Corridor.
Thank you,
Julia
