RE: Notice of Application by Ararat Rock Products of Mount Airy, NC, for the modification of an
existing surface mining permit to add land to the permitted area.
To Whom It May Concern:
I have received notice of the above referenced application by Ararat Rock Products. As
the Owner of record of adjoining land that lies within 1000 feet of the permit boundaries, I have
concerns that the granting of this modification could adversely impact the area in which my
property is located as defined relative to G.S. 74-51 (d) section (2), (3), (4), and (6).
I respectfully request that a Public Hearing be held to address these concerns. At that
hearing, I would like to have available for consideration and review the written comments on
the application for permit modification by Ararat Rock Products which were provided by the
agencies specified in G.S. 74-50 (b3).
I understand that this hearing would be held to address environmental concerns, and
that I retain the right to bring any legal or equitable action for redress against nuisances or
hazards.
