I Response to DEMLR Additional Information Request Appendices PIEDtA'ONT LITHIUM H Appendix H: Two Rivers Utilities Letter to Piedmont Lithium TWO RIVEs S UTILIS We are TR U to our customers! December 2, 2021 Malissa Gordon Community & Government Relations Manager Piedmont Lithium 32 North Main Street, Suite 100 Belmont, NC 28012 Subject: Sewer Availability - Piedmont Lithium Site — Gaston County The proposed Piedmont Lithium site in Gaston County is within the service area of Two River Utilities. Wastewater from the proposed site could be treated at the Long Creek WWTP (NPDES 9 NC0020184). The Long Greek WWTP has a permitted capacity of 16 MGD. The current Average Daily Flow for the plant is 7.0 MGD. The allocated capacity is currently 9.6 MGD. The long Creek WWTP has 6.4 MGD available capacity which could serve the site. The Long Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is an advanced biological nutrient removal treatment facility and one of the most sophisticated treatment plants in North Carolina. Flow rates above 25,000 gal/day would require a wastewater discharge permit. The constituents from the proposed wastewater discharge must be evaluated to determine what level of pretreatment may be needed. The route to serve the site with sewer has not been determined at this time. Once the route and the proposed discharge volumes are determined, the existing sewer system beyond the proposed connection point will be evaluated to determine if any additional improvements would be required. Piedmont Lithium may be required to participate in any needed sewer system improvements to accommodate the additional flows from the site.
