John,
Thanks for your time and guidance through this process. The form has been completed and signed,
and the check for the registration fee has been issued — see attached documents. Landsdown
Corporation is putting this information in the mail to you tomorrow so you should have it by Friday.
Adam, I hope this is sufficient documentation in order to proceed with the draft mining permit
modification document and verification of the additional reclamation bond amount.
If there are any questions, please contact me at (919) 368-0246.
Again, we greatly appreciate the cooperation we have received from both agencies!

Hey, John. I am working with Landsdown Corporation on a mining permit modification to expand
their permitted mine. They are pumping pit to pit on a periodic basis. Your memo indicates that we
need to register this withdrawal in your online system. Landsdown has created an NCID and
password to do this. However, it appears we need to set up their business in your system as a
WWATR so we can select our business and proceed with the registration process.
Can you assist me with this?

Tracy,
Can you provide proof of registration with DWR Groundwater for the water withdrawals. I have the
draft ready, but will need to see proof of registration before I can send it.
Based on the proposed pumping rate of 2700 gpm you will be over the 100,000 gpd and will need to
register.
I think this can be done relatively quickly, so I won't need to send an ADI if we get it back quickly.

Thanks so much, Adam.
Yes, we will provide more detail on the pumping from pit to pit and elaborate more on how the
wetlands onsite will be protected in our response to your ADI letter and in the Pumping 0&M Plan
contained in the mine plan set (in addition to addressing the fuel tank location, type and
specifications).
Thanks again and have a great weekend!

Tracy,
We can work with the original JD. Will you please make sure that there is a subsection included in
the pumping 0&M plan that states there are wetlands on site and provide more detail on the
pumping and how the wetlands will be protected.

Adam,
We have received your request for additional information and are working on our responses.
In reference to item #1 of your letter, you are requesting that we obtain a Jurisdictional
Determination from the US Army Corps of Engineers to confirm that the wetland boundary surveyed
at the site and provided on the pending mining permit modification maps is accurate/been verified
by the COE. Would you accept the attached JD that was issued when the site was first permitted
verifying that this wetland boundary has already been reviewed by and verified by the COE? I have
also provided a copy of the original approved mine map to help orient you on how the current mine
footprint fits within the COE verified wetland boundary.
Otherwise, my client would have to hire a wetland consultant to compile and process the JD
paperwork, and incur several months of delays due to the COE project backlog, just to get the same
verification. We are hopeful that the attached information provides confidence in the wetland
boundary so that DEMLR can continue its review of the pending mining permit modification once the
other items listed in your letter are addressed.
Thanks for your consideration.
