Subject: [External] Deny permit for quarry next to Umstead!!!
To whom it may concern,
I am requesting that your deny the mining permit for the quarry next to Umstead. We own a house in
Wessex, and can hear the current blasts in our house, and can clearly feel the earth move. We have
a number of foundational cracks which we suspect has been caused by the current blasting. We
bought this house because we are avid cyclists who use Umstead on a daily basis. I cannot imagine
sharing the single lane road down Old Reedy creek road with dump trucks! With more and more
people moving to Cary, with all the massive development of apartments on Weston Parkway as well
as Evans - all connected with beautiful greenways to walk or bike into Umstead - we need more
greenspace not less!
Urgently request that you deny this permit.
Regards,
Marita van Aswegen
