quarry. This expansion may Ibe ecoinoimicaHy Ibeinefic4l to the state of
North Cairofina Ibut the iresidents of the tdaii area, myseff Iiincluded, will
inot t6leirate the expansion of the quarry. As the world becomes
lincreasiii developed we must value what little open space we have llin
our uirbaii areas. The value of this space to the weHbelling of the i
citizens is fair more liirnportaint than the smallll economic liirnpact. Umstead
State Park is a wonderful) place for iresidents to gatheir, exercise and enjoy
the outdoors. A bustfing mine a few miles away willll destroy the pairk's
scenery. This quarry must inot and cannot liinfiringe upon our Ipairk.
Oin a Ipeirsoii note, as an active meimbeir of Cary Academy's Cross
Country teaim we utifize this Ipairk upwairds of thiree four times a week and a
inew quarry could Ipoteii have seirious liirnpacts on our iruinnling
coiis and ove14H health. This quarry must inot lii inge upon Umstead
State Park. You must inot allow this liinfringeirnent to occur.
