The proposed mine was originally to include portions of all the previously mine areas but has been changed to only include the area on the south-east corner and the haul road with associated controls. The area to the north and west at the end of the bridge will be inside the permitted area but will be reserved for future excavations, if ever needed. The area in the middle was never intended to be mined by Blue Ridge and was removed from the permitted area. New maps are attached showing the omission of the center portion which has been sloped and seeded and the north area as future excavations. However, the following information is needed to continue processing your application: 1. It has been determined that if you intend to include the area to be reclaimed within the permit boundary, it must be included in the reclamation bond until it has been permanently stabilized. You may revise the permit boundary to not include the area at this time and revise the permit to add it into the permit boundary once it has been stabilized. if you feel the area has been permanently stabilized, arrange for an inspection of the area with the Asheville Regional Office staff so it can be verified. 2. Provide acreage for the unexcavated buffer and the area to be reclaimed if it is to be included within the permit boundary. Please be advised that our review cannot be completed until all of the items listed above have been fully addressed. In addition, please note the Land Quality Section may request additional information, not included in this letter, as the mining application review progresses. If you are unable to meet this deadline and wish to request additional time, you must submit information, in writing, to the Director clearly indicating why the deadline can not be met and request that an extension of time be granted. If an extension of time is not granted, a decision will be made to grant or deny the mining permit based upon the information currently in the Department's files at the end of the 180-day period. Though the preceding statement cites the maximum time limit for your response, we encourage you to provide the additional information requested by this letter as soon as possible. Tom did send the reclamation plan information that we approved. It doesn't include a time line like you asked for, but does cover the areas to be reclaimed. I think I sent a copy of this to the office. If not, I can forward it by courier if you want me to.
