Carteret Dirt Pit
Carteret County
The Carteret Dirt Pit located in Carteret County is in the process obtaining a Central Coastal Plain
Capacity Use Area water withdrawal permit (CU3354) for dewatering activities up to 720,000
gallons per day. The area covered under the CCPCUA permit to dewater is 53 acres with a
maximum pit depth of 25 feet.
