To: Parr, Adam; Harding, Kimberlee k; Deaton, Anne; Snider, Hollev Subject: RE: 16-85 - NLR Mine - Carteret County - NEW Date: Wednesday, July 14, 2021 6:44:45 AM Good morning Adam. NCWRC has reviewed the application and has minimal concern for wildlife resources due to the location of the mine and scope. However, the application itself was rather rudimentary. It is understood the mine design itself is very simple but filling out all aspects of the permit and noting if wetlands are on the property rather than stating a 50' buffer between wetlands/watercourses would aid in assessment. There is a watercourse adjacent the property line, but it appears due to the layout and depths, runoff will go to the mine and the depths should not significantly alter hydrology. Generally, I would request the seed mixture that was agreed upon last year, but for this location the proposed is ok with NCWRC if ok with NCDEMLR. Thank you for the nudge. Please don't hesitate to call or email if there is anything additional. Take care, Maria Maria T. Dunn Coastal Coordinator NC Wildlife Resources Commission 943 Washington Sq.
