Proposed Fields Station Road Pit

Dear Mr. Parr,
On behalf of Danny Smith (Danny Smith Landscaping & Drainage), enclosed is an application
package for a proposed mine site located off of Fields Station Road approximately 3.5 miles
east of La Grange, NC. The proposed permitted area is 22.93 acres and is on a tract of land
owned by Robert Sutton Jr. The proposed site is at the southern end a of long agricultural tract
of land. There is an irrigation pond on the northern end that is in the final stage of completion.
The irrigation pond is under NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of
Soil and Water Conservation. A 30' strip of land has been left to access the two power poles in
the proposed excavation area.
Six copies of the NC Mining Permit Application, six copies of the mine map, and a check for
$3,750.00 is enclosed. All adjoining property owners have been properly notified along with
the Lenoir County Manager and the N.C. Department of Transportation.
