I am just trying to keep you informed since there is not supposed to be activity. This is what happened in 2018! They did what they wanted and the state did nothing to stop the activity. They are trying to do all they can before you stop them. On Thursday, June 24, 2021, 08:48:48 AM EDT, Parr, Adam <adam.parr@ncdenr.gov> wrote: Sharon, As I mentioned in my previous email. Since there is an open application for a mining permit for which no decision has been made there should be no activity at the site until the application is approved. They only reason for activity would be if they were required to correct Erosion and Sediment Control (E&SC) measures as part of a notice of violation. At this time I am not aware of any requirement for remediation. There should be no activity. I did take a video. My husband called this morning to tell me they were already working and had unloaded more equipment. I am on my way there in a few minutes to check things out. Is this allowed? The application is still in review. • Since there is an open application there should be no work happening at this location. Thank you for bringing this to our attentions. We will be investigating this. Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spam. Mr. Parr, I sent an email to you on June 3 expressing my objection to the establishment of a clay borrow pit, rock quarry, etc. on Hoods Creek Road in Caldwell County. I have a petition with 117 signatures opposing the establishment of this mine. I will be sending you copies of this petition in the mail. On behalf of our community, a public hearing is needed to give the citizens a voice. I would like to know if a mining permit has already been issued for this property. Earnhardt Grading has had equipment working on this property since the second week in June. Fact is, they are working today. I have attached some photos with dates to show some of what is going on. I have not been on the property to see how much has been graded. Are they allowed to begin working on this property? I would like a copy of any documents pertaining to this property. If it requires an appointment to look at the files, please tell me who to contact. I appreciate your time. Sharon Bryant
