Hello Mr. Parr,
It is my understanding Raymond Hoffinan with Hoods Creek Soils Company has applied for a mining permit in my
neighborhood. I would like for the state to have a public hearing so residents of our community have a chance to
speak on this issue.
I am opposed to the rock quarry on Hoods Creek Road in Lenoir NC. It is a danger for the community, will pollute
the air, and damage our and surrounding residents property.
This area has suffered enough with the adjacent landfill and trash littering out roadways. Our local high school is
poorly funded due to being in this impoverished area as well and the children suffer most due to this. Adding a
mining operating would be another slap in the face to this indigent area. How many more times must this area and
it's residents be made to suffer? Enough is enough and things need to change. We need things to build this
community up not blow it up! Our community does not deserve this!
